Name giving ceremony in Szkoła Podstawowa nr 11 in Przemyśl

It was a very special day in our school. We celebrated a new name. Now we are called Szkoła Podstawowa nr 11 imienia dr Henryka Jordana. ( Dr Henryk Jordan Primary School nr 11)

Henryk Jordan (23 July 1842, Przemyśl – 16 May 1907, Kraków), was a Polish philanthropist, physician and pioneer of physical education in Poland. He became best known for organizing children’s playgrounds, called "Jordan’s Gardens" after him.

Together with the name we received a flag which is going to be an important symbol. The flag was blessed in church during a special mass. The whole ceremony was prepared by all teachers and parents with pupils. There were a lot of guests, who could visit our school that day and look at exhibition of the history of our school.Comenius programme was represented too.

The book of school`s history was written by our Polish teacher Katarzyna Skotnicka and published by school.
